2015 Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships
Wake Forest, North Carolina hosted the Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships during the 2014-15 season. SCNY members Grant Hochstein and Jimmy Ma won senior men’s gold and pewter and siblings Danielle and Alexander Gamelin won senior dance gold. Junior ladies Olivia Serafini and Brianna Brazee won gold and pewter and novice lady Alexia Paganini won gold. Also winning gold were novice pair Darbie Burke and Griffin Schwab. Juvenile girl Emilia Murdock won pewter and juvenile dance siblings Sara and Howard Zhou won silver.
2019 Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships
Eastern Sectionals returned to Wake Forest during the 2018-19 season. Jimmy Ma won senior men’s silver and Rena Ikenishi won senior ladies’ pewter. Junior lady Audrey Shin won silver, junior dance siblings Oona and Gage Brown also won silver, and SCNY newcomers Jade Hom and Franz-Peter Jerosch won junior pairs’ bronze. Novice ladies Laura Jacobson and Emily Zhang won gold and pewter, respectively. Ava Ziegler won the Eastern Sectional juvenile girls’ title and Lilly Mills won silver. Dalila DeLaura and Ryan Xie won the Eastern Sectional juvenile pairs title and Emily Renzi and Zachary LoPinto won silver.
2017 US Adult Figure Skating Championships
Wake Forest hosted Adult Nationals in 2017. Anna Drozda won Championship Ladies’ bronze; she also won bronze in the Ladies Gold I event. Fellow SCNY member Kenneth Yin won Championship Men’s bronze, and Mayumi Yamamoto won Ladies’ Gold IV silver.
