Membership privileges include access to test sessions, competitions, special clinics, competitive critiques, exhibitions, and social events. Details about memberships are given on the Membership page.
Q: What is the SCNY Scholarship Fund?
The Skating Club of New York Scholarship Fund was created in 1998 to foster the development of the club's competitive Singles, Pairs, and Dance skaters by helping to subsidize some of the skaters' training expenses. Awards are made on the basis of three main criteria: financial need, competitive achievements, and overall skating potential. Applicants must be SCNY home club members for a least a year and skating at the Juvenile level or above.
Selection of recipients of awards is made by the SCNY Scholarship Committee and approved by the SCNY Board of Directors. There is no guaranteed funding for all applicants. Award amounts vary with a maximum of $3,000 a year per skater and are given for one skating season only. A new application must be submitted for any following seasons.
The next application deadline is December 1, 2026! Please make sure you or your skater meet the requirements. All applicants will be notified by December 31, 2026, of the results. If you are interested in receiving an application, please email the SCNY Scholarship Chair at scholarships@thescny.org.
