SCNY Raffle Drawing – “IE-Friendly” Version
Raffle tickets are on sale for the Skating Club of New York’s grand raffle drawing, Sunday, February 9, 2014.
You can help the club continue its record of bringing excellence to the sport of figure skating by purchasing one or more raffle chances. All of the prizes were donated by sponsors, so 100 percent of the proceeds from each raffle, net PayPal commission, goes toward financing SCNY member activities, including US Figure Skating test sessions, club ice sessions, skating scholarships, and competitions. The Skating Club of New York is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity incorporated in New York and is grateful for your generosity.

Winners are asked to make arrangements with SCNY to pick up their prizes in person. This is not necessary in the case of coupons or certificates. |

How the Raffle WorksEach lottery ticket is, in principle, a card with your contact information on it. After purchasing one or more such “cards,” you deposit them electronically in the online “prize jars” of your choice. There is a separate prize jar for each of the 30+ prizes. At the conclusion of the raffle, one card will be pulled from each jar and the winner notified by text message or email. To make the raffle more visual, we will fill 30+ “real world” jars with tickets sold in-person and online and bring the jars to the gala. This will give participants a chance to appraise the odds of buying additional tickets and depositing them in the various prize jars. To participate in the raffle, decide how much you would like to spend, then purchase your tickets. Once we have received your order, you will be directed to an online form where you can allocate your tickets among the nearly forty separate prize drawings. A ticket is not divisible; you cannot put half in one jar and half in another. You can, of course, buy two tickets and assign each ticket to separate prize jars. If you order raffle tickets online but elect to pay by check, the system will await receipt of the check before allocating the tickets you ordered to your designated prize jars. |

Order Deadlines
Online sales end 5:00 pm EST, February 8, 2014. All mail orders must be received no later than 5:00 pm EST, February 7, 2014. Raffle tickets can be purchased for cash in person during weekend freestyle sessions at Wollman Rink and Sky Rink, and during the first hour (6:30-7:30 pm) of the SCNY’s 150th Anniversary gala at the New York Athletic Club, January 23, 2014. Drawings will be held Sunday morning, February 9, 2014, during Adult Academy at Wollman Rink. If the morning freestyle session is for whatever reason cancelled, we will postpone the drawing until the New York Showcase competition at Sky Rink the following weekend.
