SCNY member and Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes qualified for four international assignments in the season following her junior ladies’ title at the 1998 US Figure Skating Championships — JGP Mexico, JGP Hungary, the 2008 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final and the 2009 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships. She won silver at all of them.
